ensures precise product selection, taking
the guesswork out of finding the right
foundation, concealer, or lipstick shades.
The platform's skin quiz goes a step further
by building a custom routine that aligns with
the user’s skin type, tone, and preferences.
Holistic education
Luxurelle prioritizes education
through diverse formats, such as
blog posts, video tutorials, and photo
guides, catering to different learning
styles. The "Shop the Look" feature pairs tutorials with direct product access,
allowing users to replicate looks easily.
Integrated Shopping Experience
Luxurelle’s platform allows users
to purchase products directly
through the site, streamlining the transition from discovery to checkout. It’s "Filter by Category" feature lets
users navigate by needs, whether
they’re searching for products, techniques, or tutorials.

The notebook feature allows users to
save notes on products, routines, and tutorials, creating a personalized beauty journal. This functionality helps users
track their preferences and curate a
custom beauty toolkit over time.

Research
I created and sent out a survey to gather insights from my peers and learn which specific features they were looking for to support their makeup education.
I interviewed two Sephora employees in
Gainesville, Florida, to learn more about
some common questions and concerns
regarding makeup. I discovered that many
users wanted a shop-the-look feature to
purchase products directly from tutorials
and save notes and tips on product recommendations, which informed many
of my design decisions and established
the intention behind each element.
I also completed an extensive competitor analysis/website audit for brands such as
Sephora, Ulta, Fenty Beauty, MakeupbyMario,
Rare Beauty, MAC, and L'Oréal to understand
what other companies are doing, user
preferences, and industry trends.
